Payroll Cards

What is a Payroll Card program?

  • A pre-paid stored value card
  • Allows employers to offer employees who do not have a traditional bank account a highly desirable alternative versus receiving a paper check

Allows companies to:

  • Offer employees an alternative to traditional payroll media such as paper payroll checks or direct deposit
  • Provide employees who do not qualify for a traditional bank account, a less expensive alternative to check cashing stores for access to their earnings
  • Cards are re loadable and used from pay period to pay period by the employer

Reduce costs associated with paper based payroll processes including:

  • Reducing and handling physical paper media, fraud costs related to losses and theft, bank processing costs and stop payment fees

  • Each Employee/cardholder will have a unique Personal Identification Number (PIN) number. This PIN number is generated by our processing system and mailed separately to the cardholder. The cardholder can then select their own PIN number via our VRU Website.
  • The employee does not receive printed checks with this program since access to the account can only be via the Optimum Payments Payroll Card.
  • Purchases, credit/debit adjustments or cash withdrawals are added or subtracted from the card holders accounts on a daily basis to reflect current cardholder balance(s).
  • Employees will also receive a month end statement which recaps all of their activity.
  • Cardholders can review recent transactions, check the remaining balance, etc. via our Optimum Payments Payroll Card Website, VRU or through the Customer Call Center. All three of these support options are available 24/7 and are available
